Water Talk: Building Healthy Soils

On April 9, Daniel Arenas with the Denton County Master Gardeners Association and Beulah Acres will discuss how healthy soil can greatly benefit your lawn and gardens as healthy soil provides nutrients for the plants and can hold more water than unhealthy soil.  Adding compost and other amendments will improve the quality of your soil and keep your plants happy and healthy for years to come!

Rainwater Harvesting, Turf Management Training on April 14th

On April 14, Texas A&M AgriLife will hold a Healthy Lawns, Healthy Waters training at Upper Trinity's Event Center at 802 N Kealy in Lewisville. The event is free and will be held from 1-5 pm and one attendee will be drawn to win a free smart irrigation controller!

Attendees will learn about residential rainwater harvesting systems, proper fertilizer application and efficient water irrigation. Attendees can have their soil tested as part of the training by picking up a bag at the AgriLife Extension office in Denton or Upper Trinity's office in Lewisville.  More details can be found in this Cross Timbers Gazette press release.
