Fall Into Gardening

 

Fall Into Gardening, presented by the Denton County Master Gardeners and Beulah Acres, and sponsored by Upper Trinity, will be held on October 19 from 8 am to 3:15 pm in Corinth!

This wonderful event features presentations and demonstrations on how to prepare, grow, and maintain your landscape. Tours of the gardens at the Global Spheres Center are available, and there's activities for kids!

Jeff Ray, CBS Texas Meteorologist, will discuss adapting your landscape and garden to North Texas’ weather extremes.  Tickets will go fast, so buy yours today!

Sustainable Land Conservation Workshop

 

The Texas A&M AgriLife in Denton County is hosting the “Sustainable Land Conservation Workshop” on October 10 from 6 to 8 pm near Aubrey.  The workshop will feature information on small acreage practices and succession programs available to landowners through the American Farmland Trust. There is no cost to attend and includes free dinner as well! Sponsors of the workshop are Denton County Farm Bureau and Upper Trinity Conservation Trust.  Register at Eventbrite!

  

Source Water Protection Week


September 29 – October 5 is Source Water Protection Week - - to recognize that clean drinking water that comes from high-quality water sources, such as Lewisville Lake, starts with healthy watersheds.  Whether you live in the city or on a farm or ranch, learn how you can do your part to keep your watershed – and your drinking water source – clean and healthy.

Use Herbicide With Care


Planning to apply preemergent herbicide on your lawn soon?  Be sure to follow the directions on the label, only apply as much as needed, and sweep any herbicide that may be on the sidewalk back onto the lawn to prevent polluting nearby drinking water sources.  Check out our video featuring Dr. Becky Bowling and Texas A&M AgriLife’s publication to find helpful tips on applying preemergent. 

 

Lake Ralph Hall Update
