Collecting Household Waste

How Are You Disposing of These Common Wastes?

Paint Pesticides
  • Batteries
  • Herbicides
  • Oils
  • Cleaning Agents
  • Light Bulbs
  • Paint
  • Fertilizers
  • Medicines
Chances are you have most, if not all, of these in your home/garage right now. But these common household products can pose a threat to our health and the environment if they are not properly disposed. Pouring them down the sink or storm drain or throwing in the trash could contaminate the streams and lakes that supply our drinking water.

Help Us Keep Your Water Safe

To avoid contaminating our water, Upper Trinity Regional Water District provides a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program for Denton County area communities.
Participating communities can schedule mobile collection events for residents to drop off . They are then transported and disposed of in a safe and environmentally responsible at the in Fort Worth.
Other communities may have their own collection programs, so residents should check with their City or Town office to find their closest dropoff.
Learn more about and of them safely.
