Testing Our Water
The water we treat is tested continuously to ensure it meets safety standards. UTRWD’s water treatment plants test about 168 samples daily or 54,000 samples annually. We also send out around 60 samples per month to a contracted laboratory (that’s around 700 samples each year).
These water samples are tested for parameters including:
- Alkalinity
- Atrazine (Herbicide)
- Chloramines
- Fluoride
- Free & Total Chlorine
- Hardness
- Nitrate/Nitrite
- pH
- Total Organic Carbon
- Turbidity
The results from these water sample tests are summarized in our annual Water Quality Report (also known as a Consumer Confidence Report or CCR) below.
Our Job
Our job is to provide you with safe, great tasting water every time you turn on the tap.
Our staff and their families also use the water we treat and deliver. We work hard to produce water that exceeds state and federal requirements.
Over the years, our water has been repeatedly recognized as some of the best in our region. Upper Trinity Regional Water District (UTRWD) water has won awards for both the Best Tasting Water in North Texas and statewide, as well as the Outstanding Large Membrane Plant Award.
Water Quality Reports
EPA requires community water systems to deliver a Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), also known as an annual drinking water quality report, to their customers. This report provides information about the quality of your local drinking water. Below is UTRWD’s most recent Water Quality Report:
